Cara Thorpe was educated at the National College of Art and Design and at Dun Loaghaire College of Art and Design, Dublin. She works in wax and acrylic on board and her sharply defined style involves a technique of successive layerings and over-printings. She has shown her work on a solo basis at the Royal Hibernian Academy and at The Cross Gallery Dublin, and as part of group shows all over Ireland. She has been twice awarded an Arts Council Bursary and has also been the recipient of the Golden Fleece Award.
