Biographical Information:
Sandra Bell was born in 1954 and lives and works in Dundalk. She took up sculpture in the 1980s and is self-taught. She uses the Lost Wax Method for bronze casting which is the process by which a duplicate metal sculpture (in Sandra’s case, this is usually bronze), is cast from an original sculpture made from wax. This work was commissioned to commemorate the visit of President Bill Clinton to Dundalk in 2000. A replica of the artwork was presented to President Clinton near in December 2000.
