Calling All Makers & Event Organisers!

Jobs and opportunities

We want to let you know that August Craft Month 2026 is now open for applications, providing opportunities for the public to experience, take part in, buy and learn about craft.

This year, we are eager to spotlight areas where there are clusters of August Craft Month events. It benefits visitors who will have lots to see and do and benefits event organisers with increased interest and visitors attending multiple events. If there are a number of events in your area, please let us know – we may be able to support with additional promotion and resources including advertising and PR. Or why not encourage other makers local to you to be a part of August Craft Month!

Brought to you as a partnership between Design & Crafts Council Ireland and Craft NI, we are now in the fifth year of promoting, growing and sharing audiences across the island for craft makers.

As a participant in August Craft Month last year, you were part of a vibrant community of over 1,500 makers across the island of Ireland. Over 350 craft events were held and over 53,000 visitors attended our 2025 programme of events. Our high-quality, dedicated media coverage reached a combined audience of 8.5 million.

Once again, we warmly invite you to join us in showcasing our makers and celebrating our unique craft sector.
