IMEALL NA GCOILLTE – THE WOODS EDGE

A graduate of University of Ulster, Caóilfíonn’s original training was in Photography which led her to capture the landscape around her and created an addiction to light, form and colour. Subsequent study of Millinery, under numerous international tutors, encouraged an exploration of evolving textiles and new materials, merging traditional skills with modernity. Her textile work is a quirky organic fusion of natural fibres, found objects and upcycled fabrics. Caóilfíonn has been a Bridge Street Studio member since 2016 and her studio space is nestled on the 2nd floor. A textile and fibre artist, Caóilfíonn runs her business ‘Cushla Of Gullion’ providing textile art for the home. Living high on the slopes of Slieve Gullion, Caóilfíonn strives to capture the inescapable magnetic inspiration of the myth and majesty of her surrounds. Drawn by colour, form, textures and ever changing hues of light, themes of nature and environment reflect strongly in her work.
