Commemorative Postcards of Louth
In 2024 as part of the National Commemorations programme, funded by the Commemorations Unit Dept. of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Louth County Council arts office commissioned a series of postcards depicting images of events that happened across Louth during the period of 1912 – 1921.
The series provided a collection of 8 printed postcards. The sets of 8 have been made available in the libraries to be provided to those who attend historical events which the library hold throughout the year. We have also framed the collection for display in the county offices.
The postcards were illustrated by artist Alan Dunne and the narrative on each was supplied by local historian Dr Donal Hall.
The cards were printed by Devenneys in Dundalk.
