Experience the Magic of “Echoes” at the Louth Contemporary Music Festival 2025

Step into a world where the past and present intertwine at the Louth Contemporary Music Festival’s 2025 edition, Echoes. This captivating event, taking place from June 13 to 14 in Dundalk, Ireland, invites you to explore the reverberations of history through contemporary music. With a lineup of internationally acclaimed composers and performers, Echoes promises a weekend of unforgettable performances in some of Dundalk’s most iconic venues.

Highlights include two exclusive concerts dedicated to the Austrian composer Bernhard Lang, a master of musical repetition and transformation. On Friday evening, the Aleph Guitar Quartet and American singer Daisy Press will perform The Cold Trip and Game 8-4-4, taking audiences on a mesmerizing journey of loops and twists. On Saturday, Belgian pianist Daan Vandewalle will bring Lang’s Monadologie XXXVI to life, reimagining fragments of Chopin’s Etudes in a stunning display of musical innovation.

The festival also features the hauntingly beautiful music of Czech composer Martin Smolka, performed by Daisy Press and the Aleph Guitar Quartet, alongside the world premiere of a new work. Later, Apartment House will reinterpret Nico and John Cale’s iconic 1968 album The Marble Index, blending electric and medieval influences in a unique live performance.

The final concert, led by Chamber Choir Ireland, will showcase the ethereal harmonies of Kevin Volans and a new meditation by Canadian composer Sarah Davachi, echoing ancient prayers and offering a sense of peace and hope.

Echoes is a must-visit event for music lovers and cultural explorers. Join us in Dundalk this June for a festival that resonates with the past while looking boldly to the future.
