Every Blooming Thing | A spoken word road show with Colm Keegan and Erin Fornoff | The Live Network
From the presenters of Ireland Is, comes Every Blooming Thing, a spoken word road show presented by Colm Keegan and Erin Fornoff, produced by Sofft Productions and LIVE Network.
Built around poetry’s ability to celebrate and champion the ordinary, the show’s central theme, inspired by Patrick Kavanagh’s line, is based on two poems – Springshine by Colm, and A Billion Tiny Things by Erin.
Both poems focus on everyday events and the small joys of being alive. In globally challenging times, it is important to find moments of celebration, joy and gratitude.
Local writers will be invited to engage in a workshop before the tour, from which guest performers will be invited to take part in the live show.
EVERY BLOOMING THING kicks off the tour at Droichead at 8pm Thursday 29th May with first guest musician, the amazing Farah Elle!
Libyan-born Farah El Neihum, also known as Farah Elle, started composing music at just 10 years old. Her journey has led her from self-taught piano to releasing her debut album FATIMA in 2022, weaving together her North African and Irish heritage into a sound all her own.
And the guest poet on the night will be Tom French. Tom’s first collection Touching the Bones (Gallery Press, 2001) received the Forward Prize for Best First Collection, 2002. The Gallery Press has also published The Fire Step (2009), Midnightstown (2014), The Way to Work (2016), The Last Straw (2018, Irish Times/Poetry Now Award shortlist), The Sea Field (2020) and Company (2022), shortlisted for the inaugural Yeats Society Poetry Prize and recipient of the 2023 Pigott Poetry Prize in association with Listowel Writers’ Week. A new book The Convent of Mercy is due in July 2025.
