Anne Gildea is waxing her moustache, slathering on the Oestrogel and boiling with excitement about bringing her fabulous hit show to Droichead. How to Get The Menopause and Enjoy It has been wowing audiences and critics alike, and playing to packed house all over Ireland, since it’s sell-out launch last year.
“This funny and taboo-busting work blasts the lid right off…Never has the female body been put under such an hilarious microscope…utterly punk” Katy Hayes, Irish Independent.
Anne Gildea is a Dublin-based comedienne. A Co-founder and long-time creative/performer with comedy group, The Nualas, (1995-2002 & 2011–2019) Ireland’s top shiny-dressed, musical-comedy girl- trio. Their unique brand of intricately-arranged, self-penned songs and provocative chat about current stuff proved a huge success. The Nualas toured worldwide, including most notably playing The Royal Albert Hall, London; and an extended seven-week run at The Irish Arts Centre, New York. Solo, Anne was headline performer on various shows, and has published two books, including her memoir, I’ve got Cancer What’s Your Excuse (Hachette, 2013) inspired by her run-in with breast cancer. The latter inspired the feature film, The Bright Side, which premiered in cinemas in 2021 and is currently available on Amazon Prime.
