Louth celebrates youth creativity at Criunniù Na nòg 2023.

Criunniù Na nòg, the annual day of free creativity for children and young people takes place on Saturday 10th June. This event is being run by Creative Ireland in conjunction with Louth Co. Council and the Louth creative Ireland culture team.

This year is set to see a busy, action packed variety of workshops and activities on offer. The Cruinniù Na nÒg programme is designed to encourage children to embrace their creativity and get involved in Arts and culture. This year we will have events in Dundalk, Ardee and Drogheda.

Dundalk-  Cruinniú @ The Square – There be an open air concert taking place in Dundalk town square from 12-4pm, with live performances from the Music Generation kids, MAD Youth Theatre and local Youth Bands from the county. Alongside the live events Creative Spark will be there with spray painting workshops and their mobile FabLab will be there to develop an outdoor playground construction!

An Tàin Arts Centre will also be hosting a number of events on the day such as a podcasting workshop, film making, African drumming and a workshop on customising your clothes.

Louth Libraries- Louth Co. Library service will be running a fun filled and colourful schedule of circus themed workshops across their branches in Ardee, Dundalk and Drogheda. There will be a limited number of spinning plates which you can get for free by calling into your local library, while stocks last.  On the day itself Broken Theatre will be in each of the libraries providing workshops on juggling, spinning plates and more.

Drogheda- Louth and Meath Co. Councils will be collaborating to bring an extensive range of events to the area with Storytelling, Samba workshops, Acting/drama and dance workshops for children and teenagers, filmmaking workshops and a Clean Creations workshop where you learn to make and take home your own bath salts! There will be a special ‘Artists Alley’ which will feature works from a range of young people from the Drogheda area who will showcase their art & music. Facilitated by Droichead Arts Centre, the range of events will spread from Drogheda town right across the east Meath area.

All events on the 10th of June are free. However booking is essential for workshops. Materials will be provided. All activities and events are in conjunction with an Tàin Arts Centre, Droichead Arts Centre, Creative Spark, Music Generation and Louth/Meath County Councils.
