SEEK 2024

1 June 2024, 09:00 - 8 June 2024, 18:00

SEEK Urban Arts Festival was established in 2019. It is a collaborative project between Creative Spark, Centre for Creativity & Innovation, & Dundalk Business Improvement Development Scheme (BIDS).

The SEEK Urban Arts Festival team is passionate about using the arts alongside our cultural heritage to help regenerate, refocus and enrich the overall perception of our town in a highly visual & artistic way.

2024 will be the 6th year of the SEEK Festival; over the last five years the festival has delivered a unique cultural experience for visitors and locals, capturing stories from days gone by, revealing history, and bringing them to life in the heart of the town. Drawing on the rich heritage of Dundalk, SEEK’s vision is to help people reconnect with unique moments in history while enjoying the very visual aspect of the outdoor art gallery we create.

Curation of artists is pivotal to the success of the festival, and every year a handpicked selection of renowned international artists is tasked with painting a large-scale mural illustrating a character or moment from Dundalk’s rich history and heritage.

The 2024 festival will include

  • 5 murals:
    • Monkey Bird Crew – Peter Rice, Batchelor’s Walk
    • Mister Copy – Cúchulainn, Patrick Street
    • Bubblegum – Edward the Bruce, Francis Street
    • L 17MATRIX – The Morrígan, Patrick Street
    • TBC – Old Maps of Dundalk, Library – Museum Quarter
  • Walking tours will take place each day to the various murals with knowledgeable guides imparting the history of the town and the people we are celebrating.
  • Children’s and Teens’ spray-painting workshops will take place at the Market Square on the first Saturday of the festival.
