Tipperary County Council invites Artists to make submissions for the creation of a permanent public artwork in bronze to commemorate and celebrate Tipperary as the birthplace of the GAA.
The artwork will be located at the entrance to FBD Semple Stadium, Thurles, County Tipperary.
This is a two-stage commissioning process.
Deadline Stage 1: 12 noon 10 June 2024
The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) is the largest amateur sporting organisation in the world. It was founded in 1884, in Hayes Hotel, Thurles, Co. Tipperary to revive and nurture traditional Gaelic games and pastimes. The Ladies Gaelic Football Association was founded in the same hotel in 1974.
Tipperary County Council in partnership with Tipperary GAA and FBD Semple Stadium is commissioning a new permanent artwork in bronze to commemorate and celebrate Tipperary as the birthplace of the GAA. The artwork will be located adjacent to FBD Semple Stadium in Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
