Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Boyne Valley, Droichead Arts Centre and film maker Frank W. Kelly launch the second Boyne Valley International Film Festival which takes place this August.
BVIFF are now inviting screen writers to pitch a short film idea by email, no longer than 2 pages, limited to one entry per person, and applicants must be resident in Ireland and over 18. Entries should include:
- Introduction– A brief overview of the film. Include title, logline, genre, and theme of the project.
- Synopsis (500 words)
- Character breakdown
- Conclusion
Email submissions to info@droichead.com, Deadline Friday 7 July at 5:00pm.
Three film makers will be shortlisted by a panel featuring: multi-award winning writer, director and producer in film, TV and theatre Roisin Kearney; director Frank Berry (Best Writer and Director for Aisha at the recent IFTAs 2023) and Alex Kayode Kay, (BAFTA nominated director for the short film The Ballad Of Olive Morris). The three shortlisted film makers will be awarded a bursary of €500 with one lucky film receiving a further bursary of €2,500 to write the script.
