‘A Secret World at our Feet’, an exhibition by artists Rachel Tinniswood and Mary Cowan
at the Gallery in Bridge Street Studios from Thursday 24th July to Saturday 9th August.
The theme resonates profoundly with the artistic practices of both featured artists, who will explore the hidden beauty, intricate details and the overlooked aspects of the natural world.
The alignment between the exhibition’s title and the artists’ core inspirations creates a thoughtful and cohesive body of work. Rachel Tinniswood meticulously observes and translates the delicate intricacies of gardens, wildlife, and natural landscapes into her rich textile art. In parallel, Mary Cowan unearths and re-contextualises the textures and forms found in both organic matter and industrial components through her ceramic sculptures. The exhibition will invite viewers into a more contemplative engagement with their own surroundings, prompting a closer look at the hidden narratives and intricate forms that exist literally “at our feet.”
The exhibition, ‘A Secret World at our Feet’, will be held at Bridge Street Studios, 97 Bridge Street, Dundalk. The opening reception will be at 7pm on Thursday, July 24, 2025. The exhibition, which will be invigilated by the artists, continues until Saturday, August 9, opening Wednesday to Saturday, 11am to 4pm.
