Calm Between the Planes by Alan Leech

16 May 2026 - 31 May 2026

Calm Between the Planes by Alan Leech is the next artistic installation taking place at The Kiosk Project Art Space.

Conceived as an exhibition, residency and performance space, Calm Between the Planes runs from 16-31 May, Wednesday-Saturday with opening hours of 11-5pm.

Come join us in celebrating this work with a special launch event this Saturday, 16th May at 3pm. Everyone welcome on the day!

Alan Leech’s artworks offer a moment of rest – spaces for the eye and mind in environments like waiting rooms, where emotions often sit between uncertainty and anticipation.

Each canvas and panel is made from raw materials, with sizes that both follow and disrupt the Fibonacci sequence and golden ratio. Linen is treated with glue and layered with hand-mixed gesso in a crosshatch pattern, echoed on wooden panels to maintain a consistent surface.

Some compositions draw from local architecture, others from hand-built models exploring three-dimensional form on a flat surface.

Supported by Droichead Arts Centre, Creative Ireland and Louth County Council.

ALAN LEECH is a visual artist based in Drogheda, working across mixed media—spray, acrylic, and oil—on canvas and panel, alongside small-scale light and sound sculptures. His practice explores how light, colour, shape, and shadow create depth and interaction, often projecting three-dimensional illusions onto flat surfaces.

He has worked as a gallery technician at the Droichead Arts Centre, contributing to exhibitions across multiple disciplines. His experience also includes sound work on a documentary with a youth orchestra. Alan has exhibited in group shows with the Boann Art Collective and during his studies at Drogheda Institute of Further Education and small light sculptures in D.A.C.
