Droichead are delighted to host this survey exhibition of the work of Drogheda native, Richard Moore. Spanning four decades From Life demonstrates Richard’s superb landscapes, drawings, still lives and portraits. His commitment to working en plein air, directly from life and his love for his home place Drogheda is evident in his many paintings of the everyday; houses, streets, church yards, hay fields, spring meadows, winter gardens, studies of grasses, trees, flowers, foliage, the coast line, the Boyne, evening and early morning light, unassuming and forgotten corners, self-portraits, portraits of friends and fellow artists.
His dedicated exploration of his immediate environment, his fluid and skillful painting and draughtsmanship create an intimate and personal portrait of living a life connected to place.
